Improving Security

Security is a concern for every business and every application but it is not something that can be determined completely ahead of time. Security threats are continuously changing and trying new solutions. Businesses and applications need to be adaptive to these changing threats and unforseen scenarios. If we look again at our warehouse example, security elements are as follows:

i. Location of non staff members, such as delivery drivers, customers etc
ii. Location of staff members
iii. Trust level of staff members (i.e. length of service, age, seniority)
iv. Location, Value and Size of goods

Again, a relatively simple environment but a very complex set of possible interactions / possibilities / events. What should a management system pay attention to? That the driver who was at the door a moment ago is now deep inside the warehouse but there are no staff around? That your new 18 year old temp staff member is hanging around the stack of notebook computers that are close to the door? That your warehouse manager is by the stack of notebook computers?
