Efficiency can be defined as how much energy we use to produce an action or item. Optimizing efficency is then how to reduce the energy required to produce the same output. However in complex environments, like a supply chain for example, there are many areas that are using energy and the inefficiences are often in the interaction of all of those elements working together.

Adding Attendant to your application can allow you to adaptively monitor the efficency of your system as a whole to find those areas that are inefficient. Attendant can monitor these events over time to determine when the system is "stressed", allowing a human manager or business system to pinpoint the areas of inefficiency as they happen and correct them in real time.
